Nutritional Assessment Using Functional Lab Work
What is Nutritional Assessment

What is a Nutritional Assessment using Functional Lab Work and how it can help me?

It can be thought of as a type of detective work that seeks to identify underlying causes of a variety of “dis-eases” or disorders instead of chasing after symptoms. We want to get to the root cause of attention deficit, memory loss, stuttering, language disorders or any (speech language) pathology.

Using easy to administer nutritional labs (often in the convenience of your own home) we are able to identify healing opportunities and engage clients of all ages in health building processes using proven and professional protocols. This includes Diet, Rest, Exercise, Supplements and Stress Reduction. This natural, holistic approach yields the highest level of positive clinical outcomes.

When we establish a healthy foundation, we create space for improvement and ease in communication.

What To Expect

What can I expect?

Part One of our Journey.

During our initial meeting, we will review together health history, current health complaints, wellness goals, nutrition, current medications and supplements. This is a very in-depth discussion, so you are urged to spend some time prior to our conversation generating any questions, concerns, and observations concerning your health. I consider all information pertinent to your health and I believe you know your own body better than anybody else, so the more detailed you are with me, the better.

Based on our discussions, I will recommend certain functional lab testing, which may include saliva, urine, hair, blood, or stool samples. I typically have a five lab minimum for adults and less for children. Most lab samples are very easy to obtain and are completed in the convenience of your own home. The lab results will provide us with a current and thorough assessment of how various systems in your body are functioning.

Part 2 of our Journey.

I will then custom tailor a program to address imbalances that may include education, natural and botanical supplements and remedies, as well as lifestyle factors such as stress management, diet, sleep, appropriate exercise, and adequate hydration. We can be as detailed and specific with this as you desire.

Part 3 of our Journey.

Due to the unique nature of each client’s underlying health issues, there is no pre-determined length of time we will need to work together, but do expect to work closely with me for a minimum of 3 months, often longer. My approach is built on a foundation of shared commitment between client and practitioner. I will be with you each step of the way to encourage you, track your progress, focus your efforts, and empower you with the latest tools and information so you can make informed lifestyle choices and take an active role in your future health.

Fees

How much it will cost?

There are two fees involved: My fees and the lab fees.

- All lab kits will be mailed directly to you and most lab specimens can be collected in the convenience of your very own home.

- Many labs accept an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) for payment but they do not typically accept insurance.

- Lab fees will vary but generally range in the hundreds. Unfortunately, I have no control over the lab fees and we will be using several different labs.

- For adults I have a generally have a 5 lab minimum with few exceptions.  For children, I typically run less than 5 labs depending upon the age of the child.

- The labs are specifically selected for each person based entirely on the unique individual.
